Hygiene Supervisor

Position Overview:

Due to growth of our manufacturing areas in Blackburn we are now looking for a Hygiene Supervisor to join our team on the day shift.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm.

Role:

  • Ensure all cleaning is completed to the required standard.
  • Day to day supervision of Hygiene Operatives.
  • Ensure Hygiene Operatives are trained and developed in their areas.
  • Ensure that all rules and regulations relating personal hygiene and statutory health and safety requirements are always met.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels to ensure smooth efficiency.
  • Communicate absences to the Hygiene Manager.
  • Maintain and update Hygiene Documentation to meet with customer and auditing bodies’ requirements and ensure all required documentation is completed and returned to the Hygiene Manager.
  • Monitor the concentration of chemicals during cleaning and record titrations.
  • Highlight any equipment issues to the Engineering team and the Hygiene Manager
  • Liaise and communicate effectively with Manufacturing, Engineering and the QA Team.
  • Ensure all staff follow the correct Manual Handling procedures.
  • Carry out root cause analysis to eliminate reoccurring downtime issues and Micro OOS.
  • Support and promote the Continuous Improvement culture through the embedding of tools, techniques, processes and behaviours.
  • Deputise for Hygiene Manager in their absence.
  • Attend hygiene related meetings when required.
  • Be aware of the required KPI’s and ensure these have been monitored and delivered.

Key attributes and skills:

  • Experience gained from a similar Hygiene role with team supervisory experience.
  • Experience gained from a food manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent punctuality and attendance.
  • Motivational skills. Ability to drive Team performance.
  • Self-Development.
  • Ability to problem solve.
