SEO Manager

Position Overview:

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SEO Manager to join an exciting FMCG business working for several in-house brands.

The SEO manager will work within the Pets Choice marketing team, reporting to the Head of Marketing and be responsible for building the SEO strategies, both on-site and off-site, for all in-house brands to support the wider communications activity and brand goals.

The brands within our portfolio are at varying levels of online presence and size so the role will provide an exciting amount of variety in the day to day and interesting challenges for a passionate SEO specialist.


The location of the role is within a new state of the art Head Office, alongside its Distribution Centre located on Whitebirk Industrial Estate, Blackburn.

Core Responsibilities of the SEO Manager:

  • Conducting keyword research
  • Carrying out on-site optimisation audits, providing recommendations and implementation
  • Generate briefs for search optimised website content
  • Occasional copywriting requirement
  • Share search knowledge and learnings with the team regularly
  • Keep up to date with Google Analytics platform, working with other team members to gain the most valuable insights.
  • Carry out competitor research and analysis regularly to inform or amend strategy
  • Monthly and ad hoc reporting
  • Constantly seek out ways to improve performance and take advantage of opportunities
  • Deliver search performance against set KPIs

Key attributes and skills:

Essential Skills & Requirement

  • At least 2 year’ experience in SEO with a proven track record of generating results
  • Experience of the full Microsoft Office suite including Microsoft Excel
  • Experience using SEO tools such as MOZ
  • Proficient in using Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Search Console
  • Experience using CMS platforms to update web content and meta data
  • Eligibility to work in the UK on a permanent basis
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Polite, courteous well presented
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • A flexible, enthusiastic, and committed attitude
  • Full UK and clean driving licence is preferred


Competitive salary dependent on experience.

Holiday entitlement is 23 days pa plus statutory bank holidays (3 days to be used during the Christmas period).

Company pension scheme will also be available after qualifying period. 

Core working hours are 8.30 – 5.00 with half hour for lunch, however due to the nature of the role some out of hours working will be required.

The role is office base with occasional travel to consumer shows/exhibitions as and when required
