Position Overview:

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven Social Media Executive who is seeking a new challenge and the opportunity to be an integral member of an FMCG expanding business.

You will have a background in social media marketing, with an understanding of multiple social media platforms and the ability to create compelling content across several brands.

The ideal social media executive would thrive working in a dynamic environment as part of a fast-paced team, working alongside multiple departments to help further the Pets Choice brands across social media.


The location of the role is within a new state of the art head office, alongside its Distribution Centre located on Whitebirk Industrial Estate, Blackburn.

Core Responsibilities & Skills of the Social Media Executive

  • Proactively create, launch and assist on the management of social media campaigns using Sprout Social
  • Participation in brainstorms to devise fresh and innovative ideas to increase followers and fans to build an engaged community
  • Monitor social media and digital activity
  • Provide reporting and evaluation of social media and digital activity – for internal and external purposes
  • Demonstrate knowledge of working with Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Google+, Instagram, Pinterest, blogs, and emerging digital channels
  • Writing engaging and creative content for blogs
  • Working with third parties to engage in influencer marketing and growing social following
  • Confident using Google analytics to analyse results and provide recommendations accordingly
  • Day to day running of social advertising with direction from SM Manager, monitoring budget spending in line with tracker
  • Monthly analytical reports across all sites
  • Implementation of all email marketing communications
  • Responsible for sending out influencer products/ blogger boxes
  • Responsible for monitoring and fulfilling consumer competitions, including sending out weekly ‘Freebie Friday’ prizes and fulfilment of authorised sponsorship requests ensuring a comprehensive record is kept
  • Responsible for all product sample requests. Ensuring samples are sent out in a timely manner meeting any deadlines and a comprehensive record is kept
  • Research and identification of suitable influencers in the Pet/Lifestyle industry
  • Ownership of the Pets Choice Influencer Database
  • Complete end-to-end relationship management with influencers, from initial outreach emails to processing payments

Essential Skills & Requirement

  • Eligibility to work in the UK on a permanent basis
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Polite, courteous well presented
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • A flexible, enthusiastic, and committed attitude
  • Experience of the full Microsoft Office suite including Microsoft Excel
  • Experience using social media management platforms including Sprout Social and Hootsuite
  • Experience using Facebook Business manager and management of advertising
  • Experience using Google Analytics 
  • Experience using CMS platforms to update web content and product information
  • Excellent work and customer care ethos;
  • Full UK and clean driving licence is preferred


The package on offer comprises of a p.a. based on experience.

Holiday entitlement is 23 days pa plus statutory bank holidays (3 days to be used during the Christmas period).

Company pension scheme will also be available after qualifying period.

Core working hours are 8.30 – 5.00 with half hour for lunch, however due to the nature of the role some out of hours working will be required.

Mobility Requirements:

The role is office base with occasional travel to consumer shows/exhibitions as and when required.
